I am directed by the Board of Ordnance to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated 7th instant, requesting payment of the balance of effects supposed to be due to the late Mr. Ainsworth, Ordnance Clerk at Hong Kong, at the time of his death.
I am to acquaint you that there is not now in this Dept any balance in favor of this deceased, the amount of pay due to him at the time of his death having been paid to the Registrar, Court House Victoria, as official administrator of the Intestate Estate of the deceased.
I return the Certificate of identity.
